There is a pirate ‘stock exchange’ in Somalia where locals can invest in pirate gangs planning hijacking missions!
Pirates with heavy weaponry have landed at Haradheere, which used to be a small fishing village and now it’s a bustling town where you can find luxury cars owned by the pirates and those who bankroll them! They even create their little traffic jams now and then along it's dusty streets.
During an interview, one of the wealthiest pirates in town stated that the shares of the stock exchange that they decided to establish in this fishing town, is open to all and everybody who wants to be in. They can gain their shares by providing cash, weapons or any useful material that well help their pirate community to become better and stronger.
This business is considered the main profitable economic activity in this particular area, therefore the town’s deputy security officer supports the piracy-related cause!
