The Aghori Babas are a Hindu sect residing primarily in India. They are known for their extreme deviations from typical Hindu religious norms and Indian social norms and as such receive condemnation from the mainstream Indian population.
One of their primary beliefs is that spiritual enlightenment can only be achieved when one is able to conquer his/her fear of death. Thus, when a member of their group dies, the Aghori Babas eat them. Additionally, in India oftentimes the dead are set afloat into the Ganges river. The Aghori babas fish them out and feast on them as well.
