The only survivor of a plane crash that killed 70 people was a teen who got ejected in his seat and landed upright!

On January 21, 1985, a non-scheduled charter flight traveling from Reno, Nevada to Minneapolis, Minnesota crashed and killed all but one of it's 71 passengers. It took off at 1:04 am and crashed about 1.5 miles away from the runway. It then burst into flames and broke into pieces that scattered around the crash area.
Three people survived the initial crash. However, one of them died about a week later on January 29 and the other died a few days after that on February 4th. The one person that survived was 17-year-old George Lamson Jr.
Lamson was thrown from the plane still in his seat and landed upright on a nearby street. He was able to walk away from the seat before the aircraft exploded and even gave an interview shortly after the crash. After an investigation, officials determined that the probable cause of the crash was the captain's failure to monitor the air speed and flight path of the aircraft.
