4 in 10 Americans never leave their hometown. Many of these people claim they held on to their hometowns because of the relationships that they have there. The 6 that leave their hometown usually claim to do it because of economic reasons.
Analysts have suggested some reasons for this settling down. One brake on moving is the rise of two-career couples which makes it difficult to coordinate relocations. Another is the fact that there just aren’t enough jobs to move for.
