A serial killer had such a clean public life; he got to meet the First Lady!

John Wayne Gacy, also known as the Killer Clown, was a notorious serial killer between the years of 1972 and 1978 in Chicago, Illinois.
Gacy would lure teenage boys and young men, through a variety of means, kill, and sometimes rape them, then he would bury most of the bodies in his backyard. He had a total of 33 victims.
Despite the fact that he had murdered 33 innocent people with a promising life in front of them, Gacy was a well liked member of his community and was always doing charitable things.
He would host summer parties, help around his neighborhood, and dress up as 'Pogo the Clown' and perform at children's parties!
Gacy was so well known for being helpful in his community, that he was given security clearance, and he met the First Lady (Rosalynn Carter)!
There is even a photograph of him standing next to her - and this is in 1978, the same year that he was arrested and charged with the murder of 33 people!
