A woman sued McDonald's over a hot coffee accident she had last year!

One of the most famous court cases involving McDonald’s is the one brought by Stella Liebeck in the 90s. It’s often regarded as an example of frivolous lawsuits. McDonald’s is facing a similar case now. Joan Fino, a 74-year-old woman from California is suing McDonald’s over coffee she spilled on her lap while on the drive-thru.

Her claim is that McDonald’s keeps their coffee at scalding temperatures because it keeps it fresh longer. The accident occurred in August 2012 and she claims that it still hurts and has trouble sleeping.
