SWAT Kats was cancelled despite being the most successful syndicated cartoon!

In 1993, Hanna-Barbera released SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron, an animated action show taking place in the world of Megakat City. It was based on characters created by Christian and Yvonne Tremblay.
Despite early cancellation in it's second season, the series remains popular with an active fanbase. In the United States it can occasionally be found in syndication on the Boomerang Cable Network.
The titular SWAT Kats are two vigilante pilots who possess a state-of-the-art fighter jet with an array of weaponry. Throughout the series, they face various villains as well as Megakat City's militarized police force, the Enforcers.
SWAT Kats became the number one syndicated show of 1994, and new episodes were expected to come out. The show was canceled with three unfinished episodes since Hanna-Barbera ended their syndication block to focus mostly on producing content for Cartoon Network.
