The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), is a scientific agency within the United States Department of Commerce focused on the conditions of the oceans and the atmosphere.
NOAA warns of dangerous weather, charts seas and skies, guides the use and protection of ocean and coastal resources, and conducts research to improve understanding and stewardship of the environment.
The main reason why NOAA was formed in the 1970s was for a better protection of life and property from natural hazards, for a better understanding of the total environment and for exploration and development leading to the intelligent use of the U.S marine resources.
One of NOAA’s multiple tasks requires them to acknowledge every sound created by the ocean or from living organisms that live within. Despite the multiple studies and researches they conduct on a daily basis, there are 6 unidentified recorded sounds that they have not been able to distinguish!
Hopefully none of those sounds will be related to Cthulhu’s awakening.
