When you stare at a clock, the second hand freezes for a moment because your brain is creating a false memory!

Chronostasis is the process that takes place every time you look up at a clock, and the second hand appears to freeze for a moment.
Your brain is actually creating a false memory, and your perception of time stretches slightly backward! Although there is no real explanation as to why this happens, there are a few other times when you can witness your body's perception break down.
For example, stare at your own eyes in the mirror. Then, shift your focus from one eye to the next. A person observing you will tell you that your eyes, did in fact move slightly, but you won't be able to witness the event yourself! This temporary blindness is due to an event called saccades!
