Some Orthodox Jews take caffeine suppositories when they fast!

Yom Kippur is one of the highest Jewish holidays. It's a 10-day period of penance that leads directly into the Jewish New Year.
On the first day, the religion prescribes a fast. One of the side-effects of this is that they can't eat or drink anything that has caffeine. If you've ever quit coffee cold turkey, you'll know that it isn't pleasant.
So how do you deal if you don't want to go through caffeine withdrawal? They put it up their butts. Yes, pharmacies sell caffeine suppositories that can give people that jolt.
People who support this say that it's technically not eating, therefore they are abiding by the law. However, some Jewish leaders think that it's still not OK because consuming anything is not following the spirit of the law.
