Housewife Maria Nilza Simoes was convinced that Iranildes Araujo was having an affair with her husband. So, like any reasonable human being, she paid hit man Carlos Roberto de Jesus to get rid of her.
But upon seeing his would-be victim, he had a Romeo/Edward Cullen moment and decided he was eternally in love with her. Soon enough, he confessed the plot.
Can you imagine what that must have been like; “Hey, I really like you but-and you’re going to laugh- my job is literally to murder you.”
The couple then set out to stage the murder using two bottles of ketchup. The ruse lasted for three days. At that point, Simoes saw the dangerous-duo kissing. She went to the local police and complained that he had stolen $1,000 from her. All three now face charges.
