A Swedish man was arrested for trying to split atoms in his kitchen!

What are some of your hobbies? Some people play sports, some people write articles for a fantastic website, others read a lot of books...but have you ever heard about someone trying to split atoms as a hobby?
Well, now you have, because that was the defense of a middle aged Swedish man who was arrested for having unauthorized possession of nuclear material after he tried to split atoms n his kitchen.
The man, who kept a blog dedicated to his experiments, claimed that he was just trying to see IF someone could split atoms in their very own kitchen. On his blog, he stated that he caused a small nuclear meltdown to happen on his stove.
It wasn't until his blog traffic increased that he realized what he is doing might be illegal, so he sent an e-mail to Sweden's Radiation Authority, which was then forwarded to the police. Radium, americium, and uranium were all found in his kitchen when he was arrested!
