If you’re like the average Joe, a study by app company Locket suggests you probably check your phone around 110 times a day. That means that, during average waking hours, you probably check your phone more than once every 10 minutes.
There are some people who check their phones up to 900 times per day. That’s more than once every minute! People are most active on their phones from 5-8pm EST and, during these peak hours, cell phones are consulted, on average, a whopping 9 times per hour.
Very few people make it through the early evening without checking their phones at all; 75% of people check their phones at least once during peak hours.
Cell phones get the most rest when we do; people spend the least amount of time checking their phones between 3-5am EST, when only 24% of people check their phones and those who just can’t get away check just 4 times per hour.
